The Boothbay Boys Cross Country Team, led by Kyle Ames, Blake Erhard, and Will Perkins, captured the 2016 MVC Championship at the University of Maine Augusta on October 15th. Ames completed the course in 18:21 to take 2nd place for the Seahawks. Erhard and Perkins finished 3rd and 5th respectively. Boothbay's winning score of 28 topped the Carrabec Cobras, who finished second with a score of 61. Lisbon score 71 points to place 3rd.


Runner of the Year Jacob Hickey of Winthrop took top individual honors, crossing the finish line in 16:35.5. For complete results, click here.


In the girls race, the Monmouth Mustangs took the 2016 crown with a score of 39. Kaitlyn Hunt led the Mustangs, finishing in 3rd place with a time of 23:17. Teammates Abbie Hunt (6th) and Bea Stewart (10th) were other top finishers. Boothbay finished 2nd with a score of 64. They were led by Runner of the Year Faith Blethen, who was the gold medalist for the girls, completed the course with a time of 20:57. Third place Madison's top runner of the day was Olivia Clough, who finished 4th at 23:29. For complete results, click here.
